Soft washing protects exterior surfaces while removing harmful contaminants. Using a low-pressure washing technique, MultiMan Services will safely clean your home. We use environmentally-friendly solutions designed to protect your home and help it look new for years to come.
Soft Wash Vs. Pressure Wash
A soft wash uses a lower pressure washing technique compared to power washing. Pressure washing is designed for harder surfaces like concrete patios. Soft washing allows our experts the ability to clean off mold, algae, mildew, fungus, and bacteria safely.
Soft washing is typically used when cleaning windows, roof shingles, and other delicate surfaces.
Why Soft Washing for Roofs?
Have you noticed black streaks on your roof? Algae buildup is common on roofs and drastically ages the lifespan of the roof. Your roof is one of the most expensive materials to replace on your home. Caring for your shingle starts with roof cleaning. The last thing you want is to allow a power washing company to go up there and blast away at your shingles. You only get so so results with this method because you’re not actually killing any of the algae or mold You will also have shorten the lifespan of your roof because you loosened the aggregate or granular that protect the asphalt in the shingle. The granular protective coating are basically the sun block that protect the waterproofing asphalt on your roof. The asphalt keeps rain water out of your house. The less granular protective coating you have on your roof the faster your shingles will dry out.
When you have us clean your roof with a gentle detergent washing process it is all done with less than garden hose pressure. We let our cleaning detergents do the work for us. All of the black streaks on your roof will be gone before we put our ladders away. Any lichen or moss will turn white or yellow which means that it is dead. Give it a couple of months for mother nature to dry out the lichen & moss and the hard rains will wash it off. Your roof will look brand new!
Other companies will advertise a bleach free cleaning process. This means that in order for them to get any of the black streaking moss or lichen off your roof they will actually have to use a power washer to rinse off your entire roof. This is where the damage comes in. Some companies called roof shampoo boast that their process is bleach free. In order to get the roof clean they have to use moderate low pressure to remove the algae. Upon inspection after their process your gutters will be full of the Protective coating (granules) Yes this method works. But you have shortened the lifespan of your roof because you now have less protective coating protecting the asphalt.
Keep in mind the roofing manufacturers actually suggest soft washing as the preferred method for cleaning asphalt shingles.

Soft Washing Testimonial
“I have been washing my aluminum siding for well over thirty years with a bucket, a sponge and a ladder. This year three things happened; it got late in the year (November), I got old and I now have vinyl siding. I just don’t like the idea of putting a ladder up against vinyl siding. I see roadside signs advertising house washing all the time now. I hardly knew it had become “a thing.” (Yes, I do believe I invented the idea.) I decided I’d consider it and looked into options.
I came across Multi-Man on the net right away. What first appealed to me was their idea of “soft-washing.” I didn’t want some hack blowing my siding off and soaking the insulation underneath. I thought Multi-Man seemed a little more expensive than some other offerings but I hoped I was getting what I paid for. They came out promptly, got to work and were wrapped up in just a couple of hours. I was afraid to look at the results for fear of being disappointed. I was not disappointed. Quite the opposite. I know my vinyl siding is clean because my white eave troughs, soffit and facia are bright white. Bright white. I’m picky about the appearance of my house. I’m pleased with the results I have received from Multi-Man and will go with them again.”
